Our outdoor shooting field at the Manor Park Club allows for ranges up to 100yds and is available throughout the year. All Imperial and metric distances are marked, and the ground can be used at any time (unless the groundsman is working), subject to the usual safety rules being adhered to.
From April to September, mains water is available for making tea, etc., and there is a toilet in our club hut adjacent to the field. In the summer, Club nights are Tuesday and Thursday evenings, when most active members come to practise or shoot rounds. Subject to the availability of a senior member to supervise, there is an early session for juniors from 4:30 to 6:00 pm.
The general facilities of the Manor Park Club, including the bar, are available to all members, who are de facto members of the Manor Park Sports Club. There is also a meeting room and kitchen which we can use for Club general meetings and to provide refreshments for visiting teams.
During the winter (October to March inclusive), we use the sports facilities at Malvern St James School, the famous "Edinburgh Dome", from 6.00 to 9:00 pm on Friday evenings. The maximum range available is 25 m, and all targets are backed by a safety net to prevent damage to arrows missing the targets. The early part of the evening, from 6:00 to 7.30 pm is reserved for Juniors and accompanying adults; seniors shoot from 7.30 until 9:00 pm. We also shoot on Sunday mornings 10:00 - 12:00.
Matches and Tournaments
For many years we have had an annual match against Evesham Archery Club, and have recently initiated matches against Redditch Company of Archers and Severn Archers, our nearest neighbours. The Club also enters the County and Regional Leagues, which are postal matches at present. Participation in outside tournaments is a matter for individual members, but the Club may organise entries for popular local shoots.
